Literacy: In Literacy, the children will be learning to write their names independently.  At Mission Grove we follow the Read Write Inc. programme where the children will be learning their letter sounds and the mnemonics that help them form their letters, write CVC words and learn to read. Helpful resources and tutorials for parents can be found on the following website: http://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/

The children will bring home two books a week. One is a reading book, which we ask you to help your child read, and the other is a storybook, which they have chosen from our library bus. We also provide your child with a reading record book. This allows us to record your child’s books and for you to make a comment on the books.
