  • Crow Class

Welcome to the website page for Crow class where you will see all the exciting learning we have done in and out of class. This page will be updated every two weeks so I hope you enjoy the pictures.

        Literacy

Our Literacy topic for the past two weeks was Goldilocks and the three bears. The popular book about a little girl named Goldilocks, who goes for a walk in the forest and comes upon a house where she enters and finds to her delight, three bowls of porridge. We had so much fun with this story which gave us the chance to write our own shopping list, talk about recipes and make our own porridge. We added different toppings such as blueberries, raspberries, honey or jam. It was incredibly tasty!

        Phonics

In phonics, some of us have been practising our sounds, writing 'ditties' and some have been reading our phonics book 'Pin it on'. We read the books in our phonics lesson and we can take them home every Friday to read and practice some more. On Friday we will get another book which is exciting.

      Maths

In the past two weeks, we have been looking at 2d and 3d shapes. We discussed the various shapes and their properties. . When discovering common properties, shapes can then be sorted in ways to make connections (for example, number of sides, shapes that stack, shapes that roll). Children will also begin to recognise shapes in the real world. The pictures below show us stacking the shapes with the best shape to be at the bottom as the foundation for the shape tower.

    Children in need

We took part in the Children In Need so we dressed as someone who helps us or wearing yellow. Please say hello to Nurse Flo and Police Officer A. Nurse Flo made sure everyone was well and had no broken bones. Police Officer A made sure all the children were tucking in their chairs and doing good listening.

As you can see, we have had an eventful two weeks full of learning and laughter. Thank you for your donations towards Children in need. Every little helps to make a difference in young children's lives.
