  • Vision & Values

At Mission Grove, we want every child to grow into a well-rounded individual with drive, passion, and the confidence to achieve their very best. We aim for our pupils to leave us equipped with the knowledge, skills, and personal qualities they need to thrive and flourish in life.

Our staff hold high expectations for themselves and for all learners. As reflective practitioners, they continually strive to provide the highest quality of education and care. Mission Grove is a place where every member of our community feels secure, supported, and able to enjoy meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.

Our vision is captured in three key statements that shape all we do:

    • Everyone aims high

    • Everyone is inclusive

    • Creativity is valued

These principles are strengthened by our six core values, which guide our behaviour, decision-making, and relationships across the school:

    • Respect – valuing ourselves, others, and our community-

    • It means treating others the way you would like to be treated.

    • It’s about using kind words, listening when someone is speaking, and caring about other people’s feelings and things.

For example, if your friend is talking and you wait your turn instead of interrupting, that shows respect. 🌟

    • Inclusion – ensuring everyone feels welcome, supported, and able to participate-

    • It means making sure everyone feels welcome, valued, and part of the group.

    • It’s about inviting others to join, listening to their ideas, and being kind to people who might be different from you.

For example, if you see someone sitting alone and you ask them to play with you, that shows inclusion. 💛

    • Life-long learning – fostering curiosity and a love of learning that continues beyond primary school-

    • It means never stopping being curious and excited to learn new things — no matter how old you are.

It’s about asking questions, trying new activities, and learning from your mistakes.

For example, when you practice riding a bike and keep trying until you get better, that’s lifelong learning. 🚲✨

    • High aspirations – encouraging ambition and the belief that everyone can achieve -

    • It means having big dreams and believing you can do great things.

It’s about setting big goals for yourself and working hard to reach them, even when things feel challenging.

For example, if you dream of becoming a scientist, artist, or athlete and keep practising and learning, that shows high aspirations. 🌟

    • Resilience – developing perseverance, courage, and a positive approach to challenges -

    • It means being strong in your heart and mind when things get hard.

It’s about not giving up, learning from mistakes, and trying again even if something is tough.

For example, if you fall while learning to ride a bike but get back up and keep trying, that shows resilience. 🚴‍♂️💪

    • Integrity – doing what is right, being honest, and taking responsibility-

It means doing the right thing even when no one is watching.

It’s about being honest, keeping your promises, and choosing to be kind and fair — even if it’s hard.

For example, if you find a lost toy and give it back instead of keeping it, that shows integrity. 🌟

At the heart of all of this is our school motto:
    Respect yourself, respect others.
This simple statement underpins every aspect of our ethos, shaping the way we learn, interact, and grow together as a community.
