    Hello! 

    Unfortunately, we did not win our TTRockstars competition against Crow. We did however score more than 30,000 points, which is incredible! 

    Rayan, Adam, Dawid and Katie all scored over 1,000 points but Muhammad Mahir earned MORE THAN 20,000!!!

    Remember that you have books to read on Bug Club. Well done to those who logged in and read using this this week. 

    39 AR quizzes were done this week, which is far greater than the numbers done in recent weeks. Of those 39, 28 were 100%. Well done!

    Since the start of lock down, as a class we have read 994,194 words and passed 291 books. 

    11.6.2020

    It's been amazing to see many of you reading and doing AR tests. Since the start of lock down, a few of you have almost doubled your reading word count. As you know, when your word count reaches 50,000 words, you get a star to put on our AR  display by Miss Jenning's office. 

    This week, I have been adding some stars to the board. Well done to Abdullah, Rayan W, Amelia, Uzair, James and Rejan K who have all earned their 50,000 words yellow star. 

    Ciara now has her 50,000, 250,000, 500,000 and 750,000 words stars.

    Muhammad Mahir has used place value to order numbers and has used the present progressive tense. 

    Raya has been sequencing and ordering numbers. She has also used the past progressive tense and created a map of the world. 

    Angelica has used the past and present progressive. She also used the greater than, less than and equal to signs and ordered numbers.

    Well done to all of you who have been practising your times tables on TTRockstars. Our battle this week is against Crow so it is very close. Login and win some points for our class.

    Raya has created a skeleton hand. She has used the greater than, less than and equal to signs and has been practising the simple present and past tense as well as the past and present progressive tenses. 

    Muhammad Mahir has used the past tense adn practised his handwriting. He also used the greater than, less than and equal to symbols. 

    Abdullah has used the greater than, less than and equal to symbols. He also used the past progressive tense.

    Hi Chaffinch, 
    If you need to swap your AR books, I will be in school this week and will be able to do this if you email me to let me know. 

    Uzair has been practising his mental addition and subtraction as well as his spellings. 

    Saim wrote about World Ocean Day and drew a picture. He also practised his 10 and 11 times tables. 

    Raya practised his times tables in and out of order and tried to solve puzzles. She used the equal to, greater than and less than symbols. Raya also did the Kangaroo Kids comprehension and designed a human and physical features island. She has been tractising using verbs in sentences. 

    Angelica did our Kangaroo Kids comprehension and practised using the past and present progressive tenses. She has been joining letters during handwriting and has created compound words. Angelica has practised her times tables out of order and used the greater, less than and equal to symbols. 

    Muhammad Mahir has been using the past progressive tense and the greater than, less than and equal to symbols. 

    Adam has been using coins to make money and divided by sharing. 

    Abdullah drew a clown fish and practised his greater than, less than and equal to signs. He also used the past and present progressive and wrote a very detailed description of what is happening in the picture which included onomatopoeia, alliteration and past progressive tense. 

    Rayan practised his greater than, less than and equal to symbols. He also wrote some super sentences which used expanded noun phrases, prepositions and the past progressive tense. 

    Shameer practised his spellings using dictation as well as his 3 and 4 times tables. 

    Amelia wrote a superb story about the dragon in Bottom Wood. She included expanded noun phrases, super verbs and adverbs, onomatopoeia, time connectives and conjunctions.

    Hello Chaffinches!

    I hope that you have enjoyed some of the tasks that we have put on the website this week. Remember to keep sending us pictures of your work.

    If you would like to swap your books, please email me and I will sort some books for you to pick up from the office next week.

    Many of the books on the myON website are also AR books. A guide to using myON has been added to the MissionGrove app. 

    Well done to those of you who have logged into AR and completed a quiz.

    I've seen some great reading progress and some of your word counts are shooting up. I will be adding some stars to the AR display tomorrow. 

    Well done to Katie who has been the only person to login and read with Bug Club. She read eight Bug Club books. 

    Well done we won this week's TTRockstars competition.

    House points to Muhammad Mahir and Rayan who each earned us more than 10,000 points. 

    Our next competition is against Crow, who beat us last time....so get playing!!!

    Angelica has solved multiplication problems and used apostrophes to show possession. She has also used shaving cream to make marble patterned paper. 

    Raya has been practising her 3 and 10 times tables. She has also worked on the four calculations of each multiplication or division. Raya understands the differences between predator, prey, herbivores, omnivores and carnivores and she has created a classification key. She has created lots of artwork and did our science experiment. Raya has practised her 'ow' and 'ou' joins and understands where to use apostrophes for contraction and possession. She has written about No Dragon Wood using some incredible description - nestled close by the M25 and the roar of that mighty motorway was ever present.

    Hello everyone. It's great to see so much of your work. Keep sending it to the Year 2 email address as well as practising your times tables, number bonds and reading. 

    Angelica has used prepositions and apostrophes. She has also practised using the four calculations and inverse. Angelica has also read some Aboriginal stories. 

    Muhammad Mahir has practised his 3 times tables out of order and the 7 times tables in order. He has also of practised his four calculations and the inverse. Muhammad has used apostrophes and his 'ow' nad 'ou' joins. He has also shown his understanding of predators, prey, herbivores, omnivores and carnivores. 

    Saim has created lists of animals that live under the sea and has practised his 2, 3, 4 and 5 times tables.

    Good morning Chaffinches. I hope that you and your families are well. 

    Angelica has been classifying animals and practising her 4 times tables. She also practised lots of different times tables out of order and created a happy sign. 

    Abdullah has shown his great understanding of science - defining predator, prey, carnivore, herbivore, omnivore and classifying lots of animals. He has practised his 'ou' and 'ow' joins. He has also been practising his 4 times tables in and out of order.

    Hi guys,

    I hope you are all keeping safe in the sun and wearing hats and sun cream if you go outside as it is getting very warm. I am having to make sure that I cover my arms as I get burnt very easily. 

    Angelica used her fortune teller to practise her 0, 1, 2, 3 and 5 times tables. She also practised her subtraction and addition. Angelica has been using the guidelines when practising her 'ow' and 'ou' joins. She was able to define predator, prey, carnivore, herbivore and omnivore and give examples of these animals. Angelica has a good understanding of the adaptations of predators and prey including prey often having wide eyes.

    Half term has ended and there are new tasks for you to do on the Home Learning page. 

    Remember to read and complete AR tests and to practise you times tables and number bonds with TTRockstars and Numbots. 

    Bilal has been practising his 3, 5 and 10 times tables. 

    Ciara made an origami bookmark and wrote messages in invisible ink with her sister. She also did the time challenge with her mum. 

    Saim solved subtraction problems and practised the 5 times tables out of order. He also wrote about Eid and a ball using lots of extra detail.
