    Weekly update:

    W/C 28/09/2026

This week the students in year 2 have been exploring habitats in their science lessons. They have been using 'Now Press Play' as a means to explore habitats across the world and the animals that live within. We use this frequently across all subjects to have an immersive learning experience, which the children thoroughly enjoy participating in.

During their RE lessons, they continued to learn about stories from the bible – they took part in group role-play to enact the story of the good Samaritan. They will be moving onto Judaism from next week.

    W/C 21/09/2026

Phonics/AR books have been sent home. Students who receive a phonics book have been given a QR code to scan and continue their learning at home.

Handwriting books/sheets have also been provided. If your child has taken home their handwriting book, they must bring it in on the Monday.

Spellings have also been given to students.

This week we had the pleasure of meeting many parents during our coffee mornings across both the south and north sites. Thank you for attending and donating generously too.

During the week, we were fortunate to have Tottenham Hotspur football coaching sessions take place. The students thoroughly enjoyed being taught new skills! Selected students were chosen for demonstrating great resilience, effort and skill.

    W/C 14/09/2026:

All students should have received phonics/AR books this week, unless they are yet to be tested for AR. Please, encourage reading at home. Students bring in books every day, including reading records.

Coffee mornings begin from W/C on 21/09/2026.

    South site – Tuesday 22nd September 2026 at 9am.

    North Site – Wednesday 23rd September 2026 at 9am.

Thank you for all your donations for Jeans for Genes Day!

This week, the students continued with the topic of sustainability!

Thank you to all parents who attended Monday's in-class session to support us in creating our sustainability display. The children were all excited to see you in class.

The students have been exploring the school's outdoor space whilst learning, across all subjects.

For Science, we have been focusing on our scientific enquiry – Commander Classify! Whilst doing so, the students explored the wildlife area looking for what they could group as either alive or dead. We found many live snails and we also found a dead bee!

Nicole and Zainab from Chiffchaff class brought in some fantastic work that they were super proud to share with the class. This consisted of some beautiful artwork, Maths calculations and a map of the UK! Year 2 have been learning about all this during their lessons, and it's great to see such learning extended at home too.

Monday 14th September 2026 – Parents are invited to come in and support the students in creating our sustainability display with our focus being on the world's seas and oceans.

    W/C 07/09/2026:

    Spelling tests – Every Friday

Reading records and logins have been issued.

Over the course of the last week, year 2 has been exploring all things related to sustainability.

We have also been settling into our classes, getting into the routine again and refamiliarising ourselves with the school rules.

During our Geography lessons we have been exploring the United Kingdom and the world's seas and oceans. Whilst doing so, we have been thinking about how our actions impact both land and sea.

Chiffchaff created octopuses using all recyclable materials we have in class. We also did some super fun learning about octopuses and discovered that not only do they have 8 limbs but 3 hearts!
RE: The students have been focusing on the religion of Christianity. We discussed the core values and the importance of the church. We then used all our leftover tissue paper from when we created our octopuses and created beautiful crosses to resemble stained-glass windows found in churches.
