Shabbat Meal!

In Religious Education we have been learning about Judaism. We have been learning about Shabbat and what Jewish people do from a Friday evening to Saturday evening. This has included the cleaning and preparation of food on the Friday evening to having a Shabbat meal of our own. We talked about the key words, kippah, kiddush, challah, “Shalom” – ask your children what these words mean. We drank blessed wine (ribena juice) and shared the special plaited bread. We discussed the importance of family time and how a Jewish child may be feeling at their Shabbat meal.
